Wigan, 15th and 16th August
Rounds 7 and 8 of Formula Kart Starts were held at the Three Sisters race Track in Wigan. Round 7 on the Saturday saw Dexter qualify 3rd and in the heats he achieved two 2nds and a 3rd place finish. He started the final on P2 alongside Harry Thompson on pole. Dexter found himself in 3rd position for most of the race, trying hard to catch the front two of Thompson and McQueen who were pushing together. Unable to reach the duo, Dexter crossed the finish line in 3rd place.
Round 8 on the Sunday, Dexter once again qualified 3rd with the top 3 matched on fastest lap time. Dexter won the first heat but was given a 5 place penalty for a jump start. He then went on to win the 2nd heat and finish 2nd in the third heat. Dexter started on P2 for the final and, with some very close racing, he changed track position a number of times throughout the race. However, with just one lap to go, and nothing to separate the top 5 karts, Dexter’s chain came off putting him out of the race altogether.
